Welcome to GeopoliMaps

I am Jonathan Leblanc, a professional cartographer with a passion for geopolitics, maps and current affairs. While I am originally from France, my work as a cartographer and university geography professor has led me to live in China, Spain, Mexico and now Canada, where I am currently based. I hold two Masters, one in Geopolitics and one in International Relations.

I also work as a freelance cartographer, helping clients conceptualize, design and develop maps on a broad range of issues. My clients include think tanks, newspapers, mapmaking companies and PhD students.

I founded this blog in 2018 to combine my expertise in geopolitics and my mapmaking skills to offer readers analysis of national and international current affairs ranging from international politics, conflicts, migration issues, new infrastructure projects to sporting events. I continue to make maps for the blog in my spare time as a passion project and I am always open to hearing suggestions, ideas and comments.

I am currently accepting freelance work for maps, articles and podcasts, so send me an email describing your needs and discuss how I can help you.
